The 5-minute post check

Before you apply, do a tiny detective pass. A real opportunity should survive five simple questions.

  1. Is the original post still available?
  2. Does the poster or group history look consistent?
  3. Can you verify the employer somewhere outside Facebook?
  4. Is the application method clear and reasonable?
  5. Did you save the role, source link, and conversation?

Apply Without Spiraling

Open the original post, confirm it is active, then follow only the application method from the verified employer. Keep a note with the role, source link, and who you contacted.

Search Like a Pro

Try role names, tools, province names, and broad words like internship, admin, sales, design, or remote. Good posts do not always use perfect job titles.

Internship Mode

For internships, read for duration, location, eligibility, portfolio requirements, and start date. If those are missing, ask before sending personal documents.

Warning signs worth taking seriously

  • Payment required before an interview or offer
  • Requests for banking credentials, passwords, or one-time codes
  • Pressure to move immediately to an unverified private channel
  • Compensation that feels implausible for the role
  • An employer identity that cannot be confirmed independently
  • Requests for unnecessary identity documents early in the process

A Facebook group approval or polished post is not proof that a role is legitimate. Stop and verify when anything feels inconsistent.
